Dr Norida Mazlan is an Associate Professor in Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia. She working in multidisciplinary area related to Pest Management, Pesticide Risk Assessment and Decision Support for Pest Management. Prior working with university, she have been working as Technical Executive at agrochemical company and as Research Officer at Malaysia Cocoa Board, Malaysia. She was invited to studied the effectiveness of pesticide stewardship in Vietnam and Malaysia. Also as advisor in the food safety of leafy vegetable in ASEAN. Her research related to the vegetable and paddy pest management, where farmers‘ pest managment practices related to their safety, pest resistant to pesticide and the risk of pesticide contamination to enviroment were investigated. Her current project emphasize on on the agroecological approache in pest management, pest modelling for forecasting, which involved teams from precision agriculture. Her goals is to helps farmers to protect their crop which is more safer to environment and farmer, at the same time managed to increase the yield for country’s food security.
